Task 1
Color Theory
Basic Color Theory
Color theory encompasses a multitude of definitions, concepts and design applications - enough to fill several encyclopedias. However, there are three basic categories of color theory that are logical and useful : The color wheel, color harmony, and the context of how colors are used.
Color theories create a logical structure for color. For example, if we have an assortment of fruits and vegetables, we can organize them by color and place them on a circle that shows the colors in relation to each other.
The color Wheel
A color circle, based on red, yellow and blue, is traditional in the field or art. The first circular color diagram was designed by Isaac Newton in 1666. The color wheel is designed so that virtually any colors you pick from it will look good together. Over the years, many variations of the basic design have been made, but the most common version is a wheel of 12 colors based on the RYB (or artistic) color model.
Traditionally, there are a number of color combinations that are considered especially pleasing. These are called color harmonies or color chords and they consist of two or more colors with a fixed relation in the color wheel. Color Impact is designed to dynamically create a color wheel to match your base color.
There are also definition (or categories) of colors based on the color wheel.
Primary Colors: Red, yellow and blue
In traditional color theory (used in paint and pigments), primary colors are the 3 pigment colors that can not be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors. All other colors are derived from these 3 hues.
Secondary Colors: Green, orange and purple
These are the colors formed by mixing the primary colors.
Tertiary Colors: Yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green & yellow-green
These are the colors formed by mixing a primary and a secondary color. That's why the hue is a two word name, such as blue-green, red-violet, and yellow-orange.

Task 3
Psychological Properties of colors
In color psychology, red, yellow, blue, and green are considered as the primary colors. These colors represent body, emotion, mind, and the essential interdependence and harmony between these three elements, respectively.
Red, with its extended wavelength, is considered a strong color, hence its association with physical aptitude. Although it is not the most vibrant of colors, red has the capacity to seem closer to a particular observer than it actually is, therefore scoring high when it comes to attention attraction.
Red has the capacity to trigger physical responses from human beings and this is the reason why it has been employed to serve utilitarian purposes like the traffic light signal for stop. This color is also deemed masculine and is said to awaken a person’s fight or flight instinct. Some of red’s positive attributes include augmented sense of enthusiasm, warmth, and energy. The less favorable attributes are stress, hostility, and insubordination.
Positive: Physical courage, strength, warmth, energy, basic survival, 'fight or flight', stimulation, masculinity, excitement.
Negative: Defiance, aggression, visual impact, strain.
Human emotion is directly associated with the color yellow. Color psychology characterizes yellow as a potent emotional simulator, with its considerably long wavelength.Positive thinking and confidence are just some of the human attributes inspired by this color, but, people who play around this chrome have to ensure utmost discernment since its improper usage, relative to the other shades from the color wheel, can yield undesirable effects.
Some of the negativeness that misuse of the color yellow can induce include; apprehension, terror, intense sadness, irrational thinking, and emotional vulnerability. Once properly managed, though, yellow can just as easily speak of unrivaled self-esteem, congeniality, optimism, and even artistry.
Positive: Optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extroversion, emotional strength, friendliness, creativity.
Negative: Irrationality, fear, emotional fragility, depression, anxiety, suicide.
Human intellect, from the perspective of color psychology, manifests all known shades of blue. This calming color has the capacity to rouse us intellectually. Potent shades of blue inspire clarity of thought, whereas the softer variants allow utmost mental focus and serenity of the mind.
Blue has been generally perceived as an endearing color. In various cultures from all over the world, this chrome has gained a rather positive interpretation. It goes without saying, though, that blue also has its own negative associations such as coldness, isolation, and emotional unavailability.
Positive: Intelligence, communication, trust, efficiency, serenity, duty, logic, coolness, reflection, calm.
Negative: Coldness, aloofness, lack of emotion, unfriendliness.
Green is, arguably the most germane of all the primary colours in colour psychology. It facilitates the harmony between the other chromes: red, yellow, and blue. Visually, green is able to emanate a striking appearance without being overly imposing, hence observers can enjoy it in all possible shades or tones.
On a primordial level, humankind is endeared to green due primarily to its abundance in nature. It speaks of not only prosperity, but also harmony. However, it is imperative to keep in mind that misuse of this color can inspire a sense of atrophy related to boredom and stagnation.
Positive: Harmony, balance, refreshment, universal love, rest, restoration, reassurance, environmental awareness, equilibrium, peace.
Negative: Boredom, stagnation, blandness, enervation.
