 How to raise public awareness and change attitudes through a 
mass media campaign

A mass media campaign can be an effective tool to educate the public about the risks of drinking and 

driving. The most effective road safety campaigns have been those that achieve a change in behavior. It is of 

course also important to increase awareness and improve attitudes, but lives are actually saved when the

desired behavior patterns are adopted. New forms of behavior can often be best achieved when legislation 

is backed up by enforcement and information. When strong legislation is in place, it is much easier 

to persuade people of the value of not drinking and driving. Issuing penalties can even be held back in the 

early stages while people realize that the rules are being enforced. Conducting a mass media campaign 

requires expertise in marketing or advertising, development of specific campaign objectives, articulation of 

the campaign messages and the target audience, specifying a time frame for implementation, and a 

methodology for evaluating this initiative. 

Problem Statement
Drink-driving is a major road safety problem in many countries, although the extent of the problem is often unclear – especially in low and middle-income countries. Even in quite modest amounts, alcohol impairs the functioning of several processes required for safe road use, including vision and motor skills. Alcohol impairment increases the chance that all road user groups, including drivers, riders and pedestrians, will be involved in a crash. Research indicates that crashes involving drinking and driving have a number of characteristics, but these may differ considerably between regions. A number of countermeasures to reduce drinking and driving have been systematically evaluated and shown to have a positive effect on reducing the occurrence of drink-driving.

Objective

This assessment involves examining data on road crashes and injuries from, for example, the sources above in order to gauge the extent of the problem with regard to drinking and driving, and collecting information on injuries and fatalities resulting from crashes involving alcohol use.Information will be needed on the incidence, severity and types of crashes, while a thorough understanding of the causes of crashes is also important. The data may also provide insight to drinking patterns and how to target interventions on those at greatest risk. Such information will be valuable for focusing the program. For instance, it may turn out that busy urban roads are a high-risk area, or rural roads; young males may be the group found to be at greatest risk for drinking and driving.
Deliver the message that an accident is not the only consequence of drink- driving. Inform target audience of the ramifications of a drink-drive conviction. Save people from the accident. Studies show that discussed here in some situations, both exercised drunk driving campaign can help to support and alcohol related accident. has helped give context, where the community tend to react positively to the campaign. The message it is not 

clear whether the campaign can have the same effect in the intense preventive assistance activities are not in 

place. In accordance with the rules concerning the talking of evidence, the studies discussed here provide a

When done correctly, media campaign has proven to reduce accident, alcohol, alcohol-related accident using damage and drivers consume alcohol. A different message under this campaign has shown those positive effects, including those that focus on the activities of law enforcement and legal consequences of drunk driving, and social effects of alcohol and driving less health.

Logo Design for the campaign 
I want do a logo for my campaign about so put it logo as 3D it meant  "Dangerous Drink Drive" (DDD).
for this I do some research in internet about other Drink Drive logos How they create and point of the logo the color, design what they focus all that.





 


 Research to these logos it more using red and black color. After some of my own sketches I Design the logo .here i have some design of the logo.

Info graphic
This is the info graphic I did for the topic. This Info graphic about Number of the breath test and the majority is of the accidents are males. Most accidents happened in highways and the same time underage age between 17 -25 people are most crashed. the occur time is between 9pm to 3am. the second last one is number of people involve an alcohol related accident in their lifetime.   the last one is number of the child passengers age 14 and younger who died in drink driving crashes.. here i use icons and some information i research. before I doing this info graphic i look into other peoples work for it. some work shows the colorful background less of images and icons. some of this white background and lot of typo, images and icons. 

 
  

Research about creative book

I decide to do a metal book and a e-book for the project. The metal book about people loss their knowing people or family members. the book as a memorial for those. the reason i choose do to the book in metal i like to do book sculpture so i think do to with car parts. so i thought car bonnet is easy to do metal book sculpture.

The bonnet cut in this place that i mentioned with black square. And the following picture is the metal look like that. the size is (W 21 cm x H 21 cm)






























After discuss with my lecture about the secondary research I get more information and details for the topic I took.






Memorial.
Research about victims for the memorial part. then i choose some news of the victims who died and crashed in drink driving accidents. 
Founded some cases of drunk and drive.

 A 24-year-old man believed to be the main suspect in the murder of a 46-year-old Filipino

 man. The suspect was believed to have been drunk during the attack The victim was taken to a

hospital the following day but the hospital could not perform surgery on the victim as no family 

members were present to give their consent to it.

He was brought back to another Hospital on March 10 but succumbed to head injuries and

was pronounced dead  the same day

 Here I put the pictures and detail of the victims that i collect and research from internet. These all happened in Malaysia. these victims all between aged 21 to 32.
